You may download The Planets to use on your computer so that you can enjoy it without having to connect to the internet every time.

Before downloading, please read the following information carefully:

The planets202.zip file is a compressed ZIP file so you will need a suitable utility to uncompress it.
The ZIP-file, when uncompressed, will create  15 files  on your computer:

Click on the download-button below and save the file to a new directory (folder) on your hard disk.  Extract the 15 files using a suitable utility.

When the 15 files are saved,  just double-click on the "planets.htm" file which will open your internet browser, and run the applicaion locally. 

Advanced users may wish to save various settings such as Flip N/S or E/W to suit their observing equipment.  These and other features have the default values configurable by editing a text file called "location.dat" (Instructions found in the help file available after extracting the zip-file)

Important Message for UNIX users:
UNIX is a "case-sensitive" operating system. Please pay particular attention to the correct format of the file-names. In particular, the MousePanel.class file has UPPERCASE characters.
